Project Life | Week 27...

Happy Monday Sassy Friends! Welcome to another installment of Project Life! This week I am sharing my PL Week 27 using more glorious Crate Paper | Wonder and October Afternoon | Summertime Collection.

It is kind of ironic really, using Summer collections to help document my Winter spreads! But the colours work for me and I just went with the flow.

Week 27 was a school holiday week and we still had plenty to record.  Once more this PL spread is very photo heavy and I have combined several images into collage style pictures.

The photos I really wanted to highlight, are landscape shots.  Literally! LOL! The beautiful scenery where we were visiting deserves to be showcased and the Heidi Swapp wood veneer "hello" word does the trick.

This week's filler cards have been kept super simple.  A tag from the Crate Paper Wonder ephemera pack added directly to 3"x4" patterned paper.

I have replicated the wood veneer look from the Heidi Swapp word by adding a simple Studio Calico small wood veneer heart in the white space of a photo.  The geo cache symbol was created from a Coco Vanilla Studio | Made of Awesome letter 'Q'. I was basically using whatever I had in my stash.

On page two I have played with colours to create a yellow visual triangle.

The weekly title pocket card has been created with plenty of white space to balance out the busyness of photo overload. The grey October Afternoon alphas are a soft colour touch to complement the yellows and blues.

The filler cards on page two have been trimmed from the Wonder Dream patterned paper and slipped directly into a 3x4 pocket.

The stickers on this spread have also come from the Wonder collection and are perfect for adding to/covering the messy spots in the back ground of my photos!

I hope you are all still creating your PL spreads as we get closer to the end of another year! I can't wait to start flipping through the pages of my album and feel accomplished while I do so! LOL!

Thanks for visiting today!

Life is Good - Cocoa Vanilla Studios

Hello Sassy friends!

Another weekend is upon us and I'm hoping you get lots of time to get up to crafty mischief ;)

I've created this page using the new Cocoa Vanilla Studios 'Life is Beautiful' which, along with a gorgeous Christmas line, is new to the Sassy store.

The butterfly print on the A side of this paper, inspired me to hand cut individual areas and then push them through to the B side, so the shape was distinct, but not too overwhelming. I've back these areas with a tiny bit of patterned paper and some scrap bits of orange cardstock.

The large butterfly cuts I created using the trace technique for my Silhouette.
(Click the link to revisit the tutorial)
The larger size helps draw the eye in and, combining it with all the butterfly elements in both the wood veneer and ephemera packs, the theme is apparent, but not too chaotic.

A simple page to celebrate the joys of Spring.
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fantastic weekend!

Merry And Bright Mitten Mini Album With Anita Bownds

Hi..
Happy Sassy Thursday..
Today I'm sharing a cute little mini album that is super easy to make
Using cardstock and some beautiful Cocovanilla studio Tis the season collection

Using a mitten cut file that I found while searching Pinterest..
I started off by cutting out 4 mittens in white cardstock with my cameo

Then I cut 4 more mittens just a bit smaller to layer over each of the mitten shapes

but I only used 3 of the white cardstock cuts and with the 4th I cut the top off it so I could emboss it and add pop dot behind it to give it dimension

Next I punched a hole in the top left hand corner to pop the ring through and I was ready to add my photos and embellishments

I added a photo of each of my daughters with the gift they wanted most for Christmas

And here is another look at the mini mitten album spread out

I hope it inspires you to have some fun playing.. Don't forget to check out the fun Christmas collection from Cocovanilla studio in the sassy store

Project Life | Week 26...

Have you ever had so many photos, you just don't know how you can possibly fit them all into your Project Life spread and keep it reasonably contained? Well, welcome to Project Life Monday | Photo Overload!!!

This week I have had to include an extra two pocket pages just to keep up with our very busy PL2015 | Week 26. We were on school holidays and were making the most of our vacation time, visiting new places and catching up with family. It is because of this, this weekly spread has a multitude of photos; almost an overload. Almost! *grin*

In its simplest form, I have selected my favourite photos from the week and edited them to fit 4x6 photo collage sheets.  I created my own design of three, six or nine images, resizing them all to fit comfortably into a 4x6 pocket, without them being too small to miss the details.

I've also categorised each image to correspond to it adjacent photo, allowing the images to create a photo story without the need for excessive journaling. Each photo pocket contains images that relate to a particular story I want to document.
The filler cards have also been kept very simple.  Each filler card needed to have white space, even if there is busy patterned paper in the background, to create an area for the eye to rest on the spread. This week I have used October Afternoon Summertime collection and Crate Paper Wonder.

On page two, I've used the same concept. Lots of photo collages and a few filler cards.

You might notice the lack of journaling for Week 26.  My plan is not to forego it but rather type it up on the computer and print it out on a sheet of A4 cardstock. I will then add the journaling to its own individual pocket/sleeve and slip it in between the PL spreads.  As you can imagine, with this many photos, there are equal numbers of stories to share of our two week get away.  I will share details with you next week.
Until then, thanks for visiting today.

You & me Together - Cocoa Vanilla Studio

TGIF Sassy friends! I am lucky enough to to be creating with the new Life is Beautiful from Cocoa Vanilla Studio this month. If you haven't snapped up some of Zoe's wonderful product, there's no time like the present!

A great thing about this collection is that there is great variety of both masculine and feminine elements. The arrow trend I keep seeing on the net totally inspired this page. I have tried to maximise the effect by combining all the arrows in the ephemera pack as well as the wood veneer. The tiny wooden arrows were a definite fave!

I've echoed the lined print on this die cut frame (on the left side) on the piece of patterned paper I matted my photo with. Little things like that are a great way to unite elements on a page.

Thank you so much for stopping in today. Wishing you all a wonderful and creative weekend!
